Nong Nooch botanical garden is a magnificent site. This stunning botanical garden is a wonderful place for photographs and to enjoy the beauty of nature. The botanical garden sits on approximately 600 acres of land in the rolling hills in Chonburi province.

The original plan for the land was to turn it into a fruit plantation with mangoes, coconuts, oranges and indigenous fruit to Thailand. The land was purchased by Mr. Pisit and Mrs. Nongnooch Tansacha. During a trip to abroad, Mrs. Nongnooch visited stunning tropical gardens and decided to turn this land into a stunning botanical garden.

The garden was ultimately turned into a public attraction that included Thai style houses and cottages, seminar halls, banquet halls a swimming pool and restaurants among its other facilities.

Nong Nooch Opened to Public in 1980

The park was named Suan Nong Nooch in honor of Mrs. Nongnooch. Suan is the Thai word for garden. Nong Nooch Tropical Garden & Resort is the current name of this spectacular venue. There are more than 2,000 daily visitors to this amazing park.

Visitors are educated about preservation, conservation and all of the amazing tropical plants that surround them during their time at Nong Nooch. Adding to the attraction there are great cultural dances and shows including religious ceremonies, martial arts and dance.

Nong Nooch Elephant Show

One of the most popular shows at Nong Nooch is the Elephant Show. The shows are put on three or four times daily and include highly skilled elephants playing football, dancing and even interacting with the visitors.

You can ride on elephants, learn about them and appreciate these amazing animals as you tour this spectacular attraction. You can even enjoy a night under the stars while visiting Nong Nooch.

It is easy to get to and from Nong Nooch, in fact there are mini buses that can take you back to town if you want to get back to Pattaya sooner. There are often special events at the garden so review their website for more information.

The venue is about a 20 minute to 30 minute drive from Pattaya and it is well worth the short investment of travel time. Make sure you bring your camera with you and have plenty of room on its memory card or plenty of film. This is a great place for many memorable photos.
