Pattaya temples: Wat Khao Cheejan Pattaya attractions

Jump to: Pattaya attractions Galleries - Pattaya attractions Articles

Sightseeing in Pattaya must include seeing the wonderful statues and representations of Buddha including the largest Pattaya Buddha - Wat Khao Cheejan.

The largest Pattaya Buddha is Wat Khao Cheejan at 130 meters tall. This "must see" during sightseeing in Pattaya was laser carved into rock. The carving was then outlined in gold leaf on the side of a mountain.

This stunning example of a Pattaya Buddha is a photo-opportunity so make sure you have your camera handy. As visitors will tell you, while sightseeing in Pattaya you should always have your camera ready because there can be a wonderful site right around the corner.

Sightseeing in Pattaya: Religious & Spiritual Venues

Sightseeing in Pattaya will almost always include religious and spiritual venues and attractions including seeing examples of Pattaya Buddha statues and other representations. Also, many visitors enjoy touring wonderful temples as part of their sightseeing in Pattaya.

It is important to remember that while visiting these religious and spiritual venues that you must adhere to certain etiquette. Monks are seen throughout Thailand and Pattaya. It is important to remember to never touch a monk, especially if you are female. Touching a monk or being overly forward or the slightest bit rude to a monk is considered a major breach of etiquette.

Also, while sightseeing in Pattaya if you plan to visit a temple make sure you are properly dressed. Open shoes including sandals are not appropriate for entering a temple. You should also make sure if you are wearing shorts that they are not too short, in fact, ideally you will be wearing long pants and a collared shirt. Women should also dress appropriately by not wearing anything too revealing.

Keeping your voice low and showing respect is important while sightseeing in Pattaya at a temple or any other place of worship. Consider if and when it is appropriate to take a photograph. You may wish to purchase postcards rather than take your own photographs depending on where you are sightseeing in Pattaya.
