Pattaya has about 300 hotels and a whole array of businesses have developed to support them. Pattaya receives International and domestic tourism, more than 5.2 million tourists visited during 2005 and they are expecting these number to rise.

Pattaya has become a trade center attracting large international and local investors. Investments in Real Estate have grown during the last years and there are as many Real Estate offices as there are bars, this should tell you how booming Pattaya's economy is. The increasing number of foreigners settling in Pattaya has prompted the construction of more houses and condominiums. Life in Pattaya is also relatively inexpensive, and if you add good doctors and beautiful land... you have a winning combination.

Commercialization of jewelry is another draw; due to its proximity to the Chanthaburi Mines one can expect better prices that anywhere else. New shopping malls have been opened offering top designer as well as the finest arts and crafts examples of the region; I'll tell were to go to find the lowest prices.

Pattaya Business

Pattaya is an irresistible growing melting pot of cultures that is departing from its humble beginnings as a small beach resort and is emerging as a more sophisticated and mature main stream destination. Tourism has been the developing force of this once small community into a whopping 200,000 residents, attracting large world class resorts investments, shopping malls and every peripheral business necessary to support the rapid expansion.

Large Real Estate investments are taking place in Pattaya to accommodate a more serious influx of foreigners wanting to make Pattaya their home as well. Pattaya has the convenience of being close to Bangkok and is being fueled by the advantages of the new retiree visa, large luxury condominiums are doing exceedingly well. Currently there are more than 5 towering buildings under construction with a capacity of 1000 units.

The tourist mixture is also changing; Pattaya is now attracting a more solvent tourist, willing to spend more. This has been the trend for the last 3 years and as government efforts to improve Pattaya's infrastructure become more evident, families and corporate travelers are filling up hotel rooms. Unaffected by the tsunami Pattaya has become the preferred beach destination for European and Domestic tourists surpassing the famous Puhket.

But Pattaya's magnetism is also luring another kind of people, illegal workers from neighboring countries flock in to fill the open construction jobs, accentuated by the shortage of Thai workers are creating some social tensions. Pattaya is going through the growing pains that every mayor city has to endure in order to catch up with success.

In other words, there is no better beach resort to buy in for investment or lifestyle choices than Pattaya.
