If you are planning a Pattaya holiday you may want to consider scheduling it during of the Pattaya festivals. The city of Pattaya is always alive but it is particularly lively during one of the Pattaya festivals.

Sonkgran is the Thai New Year and it is celebrated among other ways by people throwing large quantities of water on everything and anything that moves. If you do not like to get wet then this would not be the best time for you to take a Pattaya holiday.

Pattaya celebrates Songkran after the rest of Thailand. In Pattaya, Songkran is celebrated April 18th - 19th. You can expect it very difficult to find rooms in Pattaya during Pattaya festivals especially a holiday like Songkran.

If you plan to schedule your Pattaya holiday during this or any other festival make sure you book your room well in advance.

Pattaya Holiday: Songkran Festival

This festival is celebrated through Pattaya but you will find Soi 7 and Soi 8 will leave you particularly soaked. This festival lasts all day and night though most of the water throwing (but not all of it) ends by dusk. You may want to leave your valuables and electronic equipment at home during the festival.

The roads can be dangerous during Songkran Festival so you may want to get everywhere by foot. No one is spared a soaking so if you are out on the streets during these days you can expect to be doused in water.

This is a fun Pattaya holiday but one you want to be well prepared for including your clothing and expectations. Have fun, get wet and enjoy Songkran Festival in Pattaya.
