Getting to Pattaya – By Air

International travelers know that getting to Pattaya by air is relatively easy with two primary airports: U-Tapao and Suvarnabhumi.

U-Tapao is the older of the two Pattaya airports and was a form US airbase. This airport is often referred to as the Pattaya airport, though its proper name is U-Tapao. The airport is about 30 kilometers south of Pattaya.

Getting to Pattaya by airplane on Bangkok Airways or PMTair will mean traveling into U-Tapao airport for many travelers. It is a rather easy commute to and from the airport (roughly 30 minutes).

The newest of the Pattaya airports is Suvarnabhumi located about 110 kilometers from Pattaya (roughly 90 minutes drive). International travelers like this modern airport and convenient facilities and find the drive to Pattaya is much more tolerable than originally anticipated. There are a number of busses and taxis that can take you to Pattaya.

Getting to Pattaya by air is quite easy with these two International airports.
