Getting to Pattaya by Rail

Pattaya Transport | Pattaya transportation

The most cost-effective way to get between Pattaya and Bangkok is to take the rail. At just 31 Baht (one-way) you will have a comfortable commute between Pattaya and Bangkok on the third class Thai train.

Between Monday and Friday there is one train that goes from Bangkok's Hualamphong Train Station, it departs at 6:50am. It reaches Pattaya around 10:18am before heading to Satthaip and then return on the same route to Bangkok.

On weekends it is not practical to get to or from Pattaya by rail.

There are two main train stations in Pattaya the Pattaya Train station (main stop) and the Pattaya Tai Train Station (closer to Jomtien). Once you get off the rail you can easily catch a songthaew to get closer to your final destination.

If you are getting on a songthaew remember to make sure you are not commissioning it as a charter (taking it off its normal route) or you will be paying several hundred Baht for the ride.
